The entire system will be automated and will maintain a database of information on the company requirements, historical records, and future schedules. If built in the cloud, the program may be accessed from any WiFi-enabled device.
The system is specifically used to manage the preventative and reactive maintenance requirements of any facility. In some cases, the system may integrate housekeeping services as well. There are a few that are industry-specific (like Coba CMMS © for the hospitality industry) and many that are generic.
Because the system is computerized, it is able to manage many different tasks at any given time and manage the data collected from those tasks in an effective way, allowing the maintenance workers to be more efficient, the management to be more informed and the property to be in compliance with government and company requirements.
Maintenance departments have so many parts- inventory, assets, safety, schedules, and people- that bringing all of the information together in one place and organizing it will prove to be invaluable for any company.
